Product Description Like countless others out there, we've been inspired by the meteoric rise of Barack Obama and his campaign. In a time when America so desperately needed a hero, along came a man to show us a brand new vision of what America and the world could be in the 21st century. In many ways, Obama is the closest thing we've ever seen to a superhero... someone who has literally inspired millions of people simultaneously to step past fear, to be brave enough to hope and to go past cynicism and imagine what we could be if we were at our best. That's the stuff of legend! And Jailbreak Toys wanted to pitch in. So in that spirit, they created the Obama Action Figure, because every superhero should have one. 6 inches tall, 8 points of articulation, window boxed and made from phthalate-free PVC. An action figure you can believe in!

A New Hope November 21, 2008 D. Lasseter 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this toy in a spirit of Hope. Hope in the future. Hope in Democracy. Hope in higher taxes for the rich. I did not expect to receive Hope from Arkansas. While this new toy does not resemble the last toy I received from this manufacturer, I was surprised that it came with many of the same accessories. I mean, would you expect Barbie and Skipper to share Ken? Barack even came with the same baggage the last toy had. But I remain ever hopeful. I truely believe that this toy will deliver. I just wish it would stop asking me for money.

I love it!!! And all my friends, too. I am a 58 year old doll collector.
Great Keepsake October 23, 2008 Paula Johnson (Mpls, MN) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought two of these. One to keep as a souvenir and one to open. I still haven't been able to open one of them. I think I'll just keep them both as souvenirs. I've seen a lot of Obama merchandise and most items don't resemble him at all. At least with this product they attempted to get some likeness.
Handsome Smart Guy October 21, 2008 Melissa D. Haydel (Alexandria, VA) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
This IS an Action Figure WE CAN BELIEVE IN! I ordered many for my family to give as stocking suffers. This action figure gives Barack his due justice-- it looks very handsome and smart! It's not silly, it's a great replica of him, and something that people will cherish for years to come. I don't recommend the action figure for young children, I think adults will appreciate much more!
An item with obvious appeal. But as a caricature, it's a misfire. August 27, 2008 Iconophoric 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
Confession: I bought this within a few minutes of learning of it's existence. I think that reaction is fairly typical. It's definitely one of those items with a certain guaranteed "pre-sold" audience. I knew what I was getting, and as it was an impulse buy for sure, I wilfully brushed aside the number one issue that exists with this toy. It's an issue which will probably grow on you -- or come back to haunt you time and again -- the longer you have it. The issue is the matter of likeness. The little guy is really hurting in that department. I don't know who they had sculpt this, but I have to venture that he was no name in the business. The figure merely "checks the box" in the most perfunctory manner by being male, recognizably dark-complected and wearing a suit. As a caricature of Barack Obama, it utterly fails. That's pretty harsh, but let's be honest: If the box didn't say "OBAMA, An Action Figure You Can Believe In", you could believe it was just about anybody else. I don't want to plug any competing item too hard, but I'll just share this pertinent experience with prospective buyers of this product: Later the same day I ordered this, a friend who reads all the animation blogs pointed out to me that the creator of Ren and Stimpy has his own set of political caricatures coming out in a few weeks. THAT'S where I should have put my political figurine dollar. These figures aren't timid, generic, ersatz likenesses of the candidates, but sharp, savage, funny political caricature in the grand tradition. This is the after thought figure that I'll set out at work, probably keeping it in the box so people know who it is supposed to be. The "conversation piece" factor is there, which may be all many people expect from something like this. But even given that this may have been rushed out by the toy company, I wish they had nailed a relishable caricature. Bottom line, I believe a funny likeness here would prompt a smile that would last; what we get instead is a brief chuckle at the simple fact that someone came up with the concept for a political candidate action figure.
