A Great Game August 8, 2003 ASB is a very strong game. The graphics are well polished. I could easily tell that Derek Jeter is Derek Jeter and Bret Boone is Bret Boone because they even did detail on the players' faces!! The control is very simple. Fielding is relatively easy. Gameplay is usually sharp but is a little awkward occasionally. For example, if the CF is charging a ball, he will look like he is going to throw to second. His whole body is facing the second baseman but he throws to third. That is one of two bad things about this game. The other bad thing is that the fielders make at least 20 amazing plays per game. Sound is absolutely superb. It has everything any sports gamer would expect. The option to "buy" cards is really cool. And accomplishing great feats (two homers for the same batter, double play, ect.) rewards with "card points" which you use to buy the cards. The game is really fun but be warned: it is very difficult to master and will take about a week and a half for the average gamer. Graphics: 8.0 Sound: 10.0 Control: 9.5 Fun: 9.5 Overall: 9.0
this game is deep February 14, 2003 Well to be honest so far I don`t mind this game however with that said the bigest problem I face with it is batting control ? I have practised my batting for a while in the special batting section but I still don`t think it has very good control (maybe its just me ?) the rest of the game is very good and up to the usual standerds set by other sports orientated games on the X BOX. I got this game for $... Australian so overall I`m happy with it, but had I paid full price for it then maybe not. Don`t listen to the 1 or 2 star rating reviews I think those reviewers maybe expected to much. Its realistic has good graphics and loads of options and rewards like base ball cards to collect. It perhaps takes on more than just being an arcade style sports game and goes into areas of management, this game is deep but not over complicated.
All Star Baseball December 7, 2002 Adam (Kansas City, MO USA) Let's just say this game was definitely one of the worst games ever put out for the x-box. Buying this game would be a total and absolute waste of money if you want a good baseball game get Triple Play 2002 for the same amount! PLEASE I BEG YOU NOT TO WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ........ VERY POOR GAME! It's graphics are very very ....... i dont know not good i guess, IT IS A DISGRACE TO THE X BOX AND SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN PUT OUT! whoever made this game, geez I don't know what he was thinkin, you can't contyrol the guys worth a .... In conclusion once again DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT, WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS VERY ..... PRODUCT
Best Baseball Game EVER! December 5, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Dont listen to everyone saying that this game is too hard, if you dont like the batting cursor, go to options and change to eays batting dopeheads! The graphics and gameplay are far superior to Triple Play and World Series. The franchise mode is really great but can only play 162 game seasons. You should get this, dont listen to everyone giving this a 1-2/5 stars.
GREAT Baseball game. October 30, 2002 Derrick (Indianapolis, IN) All Star Baseball 2003 is a great game. It looks and plays really well. You also have a ton of options to chose from...like alternate, throwback, or current uniforms for each team. There's an expansion mode in which you can create your own MLB team, put them in a new city with a new park. I'm amazed at how much attention to detail acclaim paid in this game. In the Franchise mode, you have a farm team to keep track of how well your young guys are developing, as well as a plethora of managerial and everyday stats. You can even check the weather report for the game, and it DOES make a diffrence in how the game is played (how well the ball travels, etc.)This is a great game, and I'd recommend it to any sports fan. There's a ton of options so you wont get bored until All Star Baseball 2004!
