Editorial Review With its numbered deck of 57 cards, Rook, the classic card game, has elements of everything: bridge, pinochle, and lots of trumping and trick-taking. Includes two "black bird" cards that can change the course of any match. This basic set gives you all you need to get started: the deck and the rules. Great for learning strategy and patience. --Tom Keogh
Product Description A favorite for nearly 100 years, this classic card game is easier than Bridge, more challenging than Hearts. Make your bids, play your tricks, but look out for that rook! The ultimate wild card, this big bird can fly off with your well-laid plans. This deck of Rook cards includes 56 cards, in four colors. Each colored set is numbered 1 to 14. The easy to read, illustrated rules even make the game simple, even for... well, rookies. Comes in a sturdy box for easy storage. Game rules included for 2, 3, 5 or 6 individual players or for 4 players (in 2 teams).

Our family loves to play Rook. These cards are durable and will last us awhile.
Also known as Euchre... December 9, 2005 trance3000 (Brighton, MI United States) 3 out of 10 found this review helpful
My wife and I picked this up at the store and were severely disappointed. Just a remake of an already established game. Save yourself some time and money and go look up the rules for Euchre, get a deck of regular playing cards from the junk drawer or dollar store and enjoy the same game for almost nothing.

For those wanting to purchase the "old" style Rook cards - Try Deluxe Rook by Winning Moves.
Miss the Old Style December 7, 2003 Amanda Portman (Bowling Green, KY) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
When I was a little girl I stood along beside the table and watched the adults play. This was how I learned how to play the game. I have now been playing rook for about eight years and loved the style of cards shown above (90's style). Unfortunately, they have changed the style of the cards on us and I would like to purchase the 90's style. If any come availible to purchase please be sure to email me and inform me of this so that I can buy some. I really dislike the new style of cards and all of my friends and family agree with me!
