The Gore Tex Cap is pricey. But worth it. I've washed mine a million times and it still stops the freezing harsh rain from soaking into my hair and the super visible stripes on the front have saved my but a couple times when my front light battery was running low. When you wear the visor low and get used to looking around it in that field of vision it does a good job of keeping rain and sleet and even the wind from hitting your eyes too much.

Combined with the nashbar thermal balaclava its made my winter biking much easier. Even in 24 degree freezing rain. And it fits under my helmet nicely without choking me.
